“It’s a mixed bag here. Some guys are already done planting corn, and some guys haven’t even started,” Fehr said April 27. Many area farmers got a good start on corn planting before light rains and much colder temperatures slowed planting by later in the week, he said. Farmers are also applying pre-emerge herbicides and getting ready to terminate cover crops before planting soybeans, Fehr added.
