Some oats and alfalfa have been seeded, but farmers are waiting on warmer temperatures to plant corn or soybeans, Kooiker said April 9. “There’s been a few guys disking corn stalks. The co-ops have been busy spreading fertilizer,” said Kooiker, who grows corn and soybeans and also feeds hogs. The area received needed moisture last week with reports of up to 2 inches of rain.
