High winds last week had farmers in Johnson’s area on alert for field fires. Johnson expected to wrapped up harvest by Oct. 20, he said Oct 18. He was pleased with corn yields in the 200-240 bushels per acre range and soybeans in the 65-75 bushels per acre range. “We’re pretty happy with those numbers considering how wet it was early and how dry it turned,” he said.”
