Even with drought and other weather issues, Iowa’s average  corn yields set a record in 2021, according to the most recent U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) crop production report.

Iowa farmers averaged 205 bu­­shels per acre on corn for grain, the Jan. 12 report noted. This is a record yield and up substantially from 2020’s average yield of 177 bushels per acre.
