Energy development in rural Iowa is an area that may benefit from the Iowa Legislature’s 2017 decision to move the Iowa Energy Center from Iowa State University to the Iowa Department of Economic Development (IDED), according to Brian Selinger, team leader for the Iowa Energy Office.

“The mission of the center is now aligned to support the seven key focus areas of the Iowa Energy Plan,” Selinger explains. “Much of that focus is tied directly back to support rural Iowa, so there’s some great opportunities for our rural communities and our farmers.”
