IFBF: the EPA’s worker rule geared to enforcement, not safety

The Iowa Farm Bureau Federation (IFBF) last week voiced its opposition to proposed Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rules on pesticide worker safety, saying they appear to be designed more to make enforcement actions easier instead of ensuring safety. The EPA is unable to quantify any real benefit to the more than 15,000 certified-commercial applicators in Iowa, the IFBF noted.
