Grain Stocks Report Shows Less Grain on Farms than Last Year

The USDA released its quarterly estimate of US Grain stocks on March 31, 2024. These estimates for grain stocks are as of March 1st, 2025. The report showed that total US corn stocks decreased and total soybean stocks increased.
US corn stocks in all positions totaled 8.15 billion bushels, down 2.4% from March 1st, 2024 (Table 1). Of the total stocks, 4.5 billion bushels are stored on farms, down 11.4% from the previous year. Off-farm stocks, at 3.65 billion bushels, are up 11.5% from a year ago.
