This month, Fayette County elementary students are taking a moment to express their gratitude to farmers through the "Thank You Farmers" initiative. While the harvest season is in full swing, the program emphasizes the importance of recognizing the vital work farmers do every day, from wheat fields to cranberry bogs and right here in Iowa.

Students are engaged in lessons that highlight where their food comes from, learning about local agriculture and the efforts that go into producing the food on their tables. This educational initiative aims to instill an appreciation for the hard work and dedication of farmers, emphasizing the crucial role they play in the community.

As students explore various farming practices, they are developing a deeper understanding of the connection between agriculture and their daily lives. The program serves as a reminder that farmers deserve our gratitude not just during harvest season, but throughout the entire year.

Farmers of Fayette County, thank you for all you do.
