The Iowa Farm Bureau has donated $15,000 through the “Tackle Tracker” initiative to The S.H.O.P. (Students Helping Our Peers), an on-campus, student-run food pantry at Iowa State University.
Each fall, Farm Bureau tallies the number of tackles made by the Iowa State football team and makes a donation based on that total to The S.H.O.P., which helps ISU students who need food assistance. Over the past three seasons, Iowa Farm Bureau has donated $45,000 to The S.H.O.P. through the program. The S.H.O.P. averages 1,000 visits and distributes 10,000 to 14,000 pounds of food each month.
