Fall rains help recharge Iowa soils

While October was warmer and wetter than normal for Iowa as a whole, November was drier. During the month, there was only one major precipitation event in Iowa and not all locations received major amounts from this system. In some areas, precipitation amounts through about the first three weeks of November were well below normal, and only a few locations in the state were reporting above-normal amounts into late November.
