On January 11, federal district court Judge Mark Bennett filed an order asking the Iowa Supreme Court to weigh in on whether drainage districts can be liable for monetary damages under state law. This order is the latest development in the lawsuit filed by the DMWW against Sac, Buena Vista, and Calhoun County Boards of Supervisors, as the trustees of ten drainage districts.
