Conservation improvements bring some good from prevented planting problems

Though weather conditions prevented Decatur County Farm Bureau member Jim Anderson from planting crops on most of his 260-acre field near Lamoni this year, it did allow him to add terraces and tiling to the newly-purchased farm.
"This year, it works really well (to terrace now) because this was prevented planting and we couldn’t get into it (to plant corn)," Anderson said.
