China revs up buys of U.S. corn

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced almost 4.85 million metric tons (MMT) of U.S. corn sales to China last week, which adds up to about 230 million bushels, for delivery in the 2020-21 marketing year.
Market advisors note the sales are a strong sign that China’s demand remains robust as it rebuilds its swine herd. U.S. corn shipments to China have been mostly strong for the past several weeks, Agri-Pulse reported last week.
