Soybean Crush: Update on new Capacity in 2024
Going into the 2023-24 crop season, a boost in domestic demand for soybeans was expected by both farmers and market analysts, as a new push for renewable fuels was spurring the development of crush facilities across the Midwest.


At the beginning of the year, it was anticipated that U.S. soy crush capacity would increase by roughly 250 million bushels from the 2022-23 season.

We’re going to check in on a few of the plants responsible for this increase and get an update on whether they’re up and running yet.
