2022 Crop yields nudged higher

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) last week increased the average projected U.S. corn yield from 171.9 bushels per acre to 172.3 bushels per acre in its November supply and demand estimates, which caught the trade by surprise. This pushed the U.S. crop 35 million bushels higher to a total of 13.93 billion bushels.
