Calhoun Co. FB gives lawmakers a first-hand look at ag

Educators often quote the proverb, "Tell me, I’ll forget. Show me, I’ll remember. Involve me, I’ll understand." This same spirit motivated members of the Calhoun County Farm Bureau board to host a field trip last week to show state lawmakers crop and livestock farms.
"It’s important to show the strides farmers are making and highlight how we’re trying to do the right thing," said Jason Folsom, a pork producer and crop farmer who helped host the tour and lunch.
The lawmakers toured Folsom’s two 2,400-head wean-to-finish swine barns northeast of Rockwell City, along with the Albright family’s feedlot and farm near Lytton.
