Analyst: Volatility is expected to endure in cattle market

The volatility isn’t over for the cattle market, CattleFax CEO Randy Blach told farmers last week, Drovers reported. Cattle producers have seen price rallies in the last month after a two-year downward trend where values fell more than 40 percent. But the rally may not remain much longer, Blach said.
Last month, feeder steers weighing 750 to 800 pounds sold at Oklahoma City averaged $125.19 per hundredweight. Prices climbed to $134.38 per hundredweight recently, but the cattle markets probably won’t stay on a rally, Blach said.
