A unique set of circumstances has made production of the monthly World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates (WASDE) re­port more difficult than usual, according to current and former U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) officials.

“Making the report has been a challenge this year,” said Mark Jekanowski, chair of the USDA’s World Agricultural Outlook Board, which produces the WASDE report. “Gathering data from Ukraine, clearly, has been unusually complicated this year.”
