The 8th Annual Women in Ag Leadership Conference, themed “Breaking Ground, Seeding Success,” will take place on Dec. 4-5 at the Gateway Hotel and Conference Center in Ames, Iowa. This event aims to empower and connect women in agriculture through a series of informative sessions, hands-on workshops, and networking opportunities. The conference kicks off on Dec. 4 at 11 a.m. with onsite check-in, networking, and refreshments. Participants can attend a special session on Red Cross First Aid, focusing on life-threatening bleeding and injuries, providing essential skills for emergency situations. After the session, attendees will embark on tours of Iowa State University facilities, including the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory, Meats Laboratory, and the Bioeconomy Institute, showcasing cutting-edge research and technologies in agriculture. The afternoon features a general session with Lexi Marek Beeler, who will inspire attendees by highlighting the vital role women play in agriculture. The day concludes with intensive workshops covering topics such as effective board leadership, managing farmland, and mastering mental strength in challenging environments. The second day will include a networking dinner and a social hour, allowing participants to connect and collaborate.
