Webinar Description: Join the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation as we welcome back Economist Holly Cook from the National Pork Producers Council to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the hog sector in 2025.

Speaker: Holly Cook is the Economist for the National Pork Producers Council (NPPC), where she provides economic analysis and support to the organization. She gathers and analyzes data on key industry metrics, including hog prices, production, profitability, inventories, pork price spreads, national employment, food prices, and exports. Additionally, Cook conducts research on how proposed policies and regulations might impact the pork industry, and creates resources for both staff and stakeholders. Before joining NPPC in 2021, Cook was an economic research intern at Decision Innovation Solutions while pursuing her graduate studies. She also completed several internships in the pork industry, including roles as an International Marketing Intern for the National Pork Board and as a Legislative Intern for the Iowa Pork Producers Association. A native of Winthrop, Iowa, Cook grew up on a farrow-to-finish swine operation and has been involved in the pork industry throughout her life. She holds a Master of Science in Agricultural Economics from Iowa State University, where she also earned a Bachelor of Science with dual majors in Agricultural Business and Economics.
