U.S. Annual Pork Exports in 2023

U.S. pork exports were up 8% to 2.32 million metric tons (MT) in the 2023 calendar year compared with the previous year. According to USDA-ERS, the U.S. exported 25% of its pork production in 2023. The value of those exports ($6.79 billion) was up 6% year-over-year.

 U.S. pork exports to Mexico, the leading market, reached a record volume of 941,477 MT worth $2.05 billion (see Figure 1). Pork shipments to Mexico accounted for 41% of total U.S. pork exports in 2023.
