The past year was an eventful one for Farm Bureau and agriculture in general. As usual, the Spokesman covered a wide range of news that affected our members here in Iowa, across the United States and around the world. Here’s a look back at some of the biggest news events of 2018:
A Century Celebration
The Iowa Farm Bureau Federation (IFBF) marked its 100th anniversary with a year-long “Century Strong” celebration in 2018.
The organization was the title sponsor of the Hoover Presidential Library-Museum’s “Tallgrass to Knee High: A Century of Iowa Farming” exhibit, which explored farming innovations, technology and the impact agriculture had on the Midwest since 1910.
The celebration continued at the Iowa State Fair, where IFBF hosted a sold-out concert for members featuring rising country music star Brett Eldredge on Farm Bureau Day.
