2016 Harvest Progress

The 2016 harvest is progressing slower than usual in parts of the state due to rainy weather.
According to the October 9 th USDA Crop progress report, 81% of the corn crop in Iowa was rated Good/Excellent. Iowa has harvested 19% of their corn which is behind the 5-year average of 32%. States such as Texas and Missouri have harvested at least 70% of their corn.
Forty-three percent of soybeans in Iowa have been harvested, but that is also behind the 5-year average which was 54%. Louisiana, Mississippi, North Dakota, and Minnesota have all harvested over 60% of their soybean crop.
