Brussels & The Netherlands

The climate polices of the European Union (EU), such as the European Green Deal, the European Climate Law, and the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), have received substantial international attention, resulting in widespread protests among farmers due to their implications for agriculture both within the EU and abroad.  In response, the Iowa Farm Bureau is organizing a market study tour for its members to Brussels and the Netherlands. This tour will provide firsthand updates and insights from stakeholders affected by these policies, along with the government officials responsible for their implementation.

Members will have a chance to connect with local farmers, explore the iconic Kinderdijk windmills, and visit Royal FlorHolland, the world’s largest flower auction. The trip also includes a stop at Keringhuis water management system, a tour of one of Holland's largest horticulture exhibitions, and visits to regional livestock and dairy farms, among other activities.
